The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace integrity and stay away from cybercrime and other social vices.
Olukoyede made the appeal at the Youth Against Crime Festival
held on November 3, 2025, at Government Girls Secondary School, Abaji, Federal
Capital Territory (FCT). He was represented by the Commission’s Head of
Enlightenment and Reorientation, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II) Aisha
Muhammed.
In his message, the EFCC Chairman emphasized the dangers of
cybercrime, urging young Nigerians to choose honesty and diligence as the
foundation for lasting success.
“Say no to cybercrime, no to stealing, no to lying, and no to examination malpractice. Stand for integrity,” he charged the students.
Olukoyede noted that the EFCC’s collaboration with youth
groups and schools aims to raise awareness about ethical conduct and discourage
involvement in financial and economic crimes. He stressed that Nigerian youths,
as future leaders, must understand that their choices today will determine the
nation’s direction tomorrow.
He added that the Commission’s youth-oriented initiatives are
part of its preventive strategy in combating corruption and financial crimes.
The event’s organizer, Tayo Folorunsho, described the
festival as vital to nation-building, fostering unity and moral development
among young Nigerians.
Also speaking, the Area Commander of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ahmed Abdulqadir, cautioned youths against drug
abuse, warning that substance misuse often leads to crime and social
instability.
